- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup melted chocolate for topping
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the vanilla extract and milk, then mix until combined.
- Gradually incorporate the heat-treated flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Press the dough evenly into a parchment-lined 8×8-inch baking pan.
- Melt the chocolate for the topping and spread evenly over the dough.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until firm.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute with a gluten-free flour blend. To make it vegan, use dairy-free butter and chocolate chips.
