  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet coleslaw that perfectly replicates the famous KFC side dish. The perfect balance of flavors makes this an irresistible addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups finely chopped green cabbage
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the cabbage, shred the carrots, and mince the onion.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk, milk, sugar, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Combine the cabbage, carrots, and onions in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and mix thoroughly until everything is well coated.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight) to let the flavors meld.
  6. Stir before serving and enjoy chilled.

Notes

For best results, allow the coleslaw to sit overnight for maximum flavor absorption. If you prefer a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise.
