Description

A crispy, cheesy grilled cheese sandwich with the tangy crunch of dill pickles, creating a deliciously unique twist on a classic favorite.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough or rye bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Havarti or Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer shredded cheddar, sliced dill pickles, and shredded Havarti or Swiss cheese.
  3. Sprinkle with garlic powder and smoked paprika for extra flavor.
  4. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwiches in the pan.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and slice in half before serving.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce inside the sandwich before grilling.
