Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Optional toppings: fruit, powdered sugar, glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4-inch squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spoon a small amount of filling onto the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold corners towards the center or leave open for an open-faced Danish.
  6. Beat the egg with milk and brush edges of the pastry.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
