Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 can (16 oz) coconut-pecan frosting
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions by mixing with eggs, vegetable oil, and water.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then use a skewer or fork to poke holes all over the surface.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and chocolate chips over low heat, stirring until smooth. Pour the chocolate ganache over the cake.
- Spread the coconut-pecan frosting evenly over the ganache layer.
- Sprinkle with chopped pecans and shredded coconut for added texture.
- Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
