- 1 unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie shell
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon bourbon (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until smooth.
- Add flour, salt, vanilla, and bourbon. Whisk until fully combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips and chopped nuts gently.
- Pour filling into pie shell and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, until golden and slightly jiggly in the center.
- Cool for at least 2 hours before slicing. Serve warm, at room temp, or chilled with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Let it cool completely before slicing for the best texture. Make a day ahead for peak flavor. Freezes well for up to 2 months.
