Description

Kentucky Hot Brown Sliders are everything you love about the legendary open-faced sandwich, tucked into a buttery slider bun and baked to golden, cheesy perfection. Southern comfort in a party-perfect size—what’s not to love?

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet rolls or slider buns
  • ¾ lb sliced roasted turkey breast (deli or homemade)
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, cut in half
  • 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar (or Swiss cheese)
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • For the Mornay Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • For the Topping:
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the Mornay sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until thickened (about 3–4 minutes). Stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. Slice the entire slab of rolls in half horizontally (keep them connected). Place bottom half in the baking dish.
  4. Layer turkey, tomato slices, spoonfuls of Mornay sauce, bacon, and shredded cheese evenly. Add the top half of rolls.
  5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic powder, Dijon, and parsley. Brush liberally over the tops of the rolls.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melty and tops are golden brown.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy every gooey, cheesy bite!

Notes

Let the Mornay sauce cool slightly before assembling to avoid soggy buns. Use parchment for easier cleanup and cover loosely with foil if browning too fast.
