Description

A game-day and holiday-ready twist on a Louisville classic — these Kentucky Hot Brown Sliders are rich, cheesy, bacon-packed bites of pure comfort. All the southern charm of the original, in party-friendly slider form!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12-count) slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls or brioche)
  • 1 lb sliced roasted turkey (deli or leftover)
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, cut in half
  • 1½ cups shredded Swiss cheese (or provolone)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing)
  • For the Mornay Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1¼ cups whole milk
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded Swiss or white cheddar
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Mornay sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth and thickened (about 3–4 minutes). Stir in garlic powder, Dijon, salt, pepper, and cheeses. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Assemble sliders: Slice rolls in half horizontally (keeping tops and bottoms intact). Place bottom halves in prepared dish. Layer with turkey, bacon, and Swiss cheese. Spoon about ¾ cup of Mornay sauce over the filling.
  4. Add top halves of the rolls. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with Parmesan.
  5. Cover loosely with foil and bake 15 minutes. Uncover and bake another 5–7 minutes until golden and melty.
  6. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For spice, add pepper jack or sliced jalapeños. Make ahead by assembling sliders without sauce, refrigerating, and adding Mornay sauce before baking. Great use for leftover turkey. Best enjoyed warm and fresh, but they reheat well too!
