Description

A moist and flavorful twist on the classic honeybun cake, featuring a sweet cinnamon swirl and a vibrant strawberry glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon strawberry extract
  • Few drops of red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix strawberry cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth.
  3. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Pour half of the cake batter into the pan, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
  5. Pour the remaining batter over the top and use a knife to gently swirl the layers together.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cake cools, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, strawberry extract, and food coloring (if using) to make the glaze.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake before serving.

Notes

For added freshness, top the cake with sliced strawberries before serving.
