- 1 box strawberry cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon strawberry extract
- Few drops of red food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix strawberry cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the pan, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
- Pour the remaining batter over the top and use a knife to gently swirl the layers together.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake cools, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, strawberry extract, and food coloring (if using) to make the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake before serving.
Notes
For added freshness, top the cake with sliced strawberries before serving.
